Resumo
Prayer is many things: an act of worship, way to do battle, how we commune with the almighty, and an act of submission in supplication. So it shouldn’t come as a surprise that Satan is intent about warping their prayer life. In this podcast Amy discusses two commons myths that cripple the prayer life of kids and adults. Listeners will hear biblical truth break these strongholds and learn practical tips to nurture a healthy prayer life. Lastly, listeners are equipped with an important discernment skill that every believer needs to learn when it comes to prayer: testing the spirits. Filled with practical advice relevant for every walk, this podcast will leave you feeling refreshed and trained to disciple your children in prayer.

In the podcast you mentioned the holy bible app that looks blue. I can’t seem to find it. Mind helping direct me further please? Thanks
I have that app that she is “pointing” to. It is actually the red;brown one and it is called YouVersion. There is a specific bible app for kids. The “bible studies” are called Plans.
Well said. I think the point about the role of community in our prayer life is one that is usually not covered. I think this could also use more unpacking because finding people who want to be in community is hard.
Also, while I agree that we need to not be complacent in our prayer life, I’m going to disagree somewhat with the point about peace. Proverbs talks about being led in paths of peace. Peace is a fruit of the Spirit. If a person is an unbeliever, their “peace” is not God’s peace and falls in the category of Amy’s concern. When a person becomes a believer, our hearts are made new. As we learn to walk with God, we learn to discern His checks. The Spirit of God will lead us in paths that affirm Christ’s Lordship and false spirits will deny Christ’s Lordship. As we walk in the paths of the Spirit, we will have peace with God, but if we have sinned against Him, the peace of the Holy Spirit will be withdrawn. And we will know something is off and will have to seek the Lord for clarity and direction.
It has taken me decades to learn how to follow the peace of the Spirit, partly because I was always taught that we can’t trust our feelings. And while we cannot trust our unregenerate feelings, when we get our new hearts from God, we do have to discern how to identify and follow the peace of the Holy Spirit.
