Springtime is here! But in addition to birds singing and flowers blooming, questions inevitably pop up regarding Easter and how it is celebrated. In this podcast, Lindsey and Robin chat about some of the common things you may hear:
- Is Easter pagan?
- What about bunnies and eggs?
- What’s the evidence for the Resurrection?
and more!
As mentioned in the podcast, we have included these and other questions in The Mama Bear Apologetics Guide to Easter (visit our Resources page to have it emailed to you!).

Happy Easter from the Mama Bear Team!

We love resurrection rolls! I’ve made them with our kiddos the last few years, and they are always a hit. Hope your family enjoys them as well!
Hello mama bears! I’m new to Mama bears apologetics and to the podcast. Our small group just started studying the book and we are loving it. I just listened to the first podcast about Easter. I have a few questions I wanted to get clarification on. I’m hispanic and grew up in a latin-speaking country and grew up celebrating Pascua as a previous catholic. I’ve been a Christian for 20+ years and my mom actually converted to Judaism some 7 years or so ago. I’ve been living in America for 13 years so I’m familiar with the american “Easter”, also familiar with Spanish/Catholic Pascua and with the Jewish Pessah (passover). You explained how the word Pascua came from the word Pessah but then you mentioned Easter came from the germanic word Ost which means the rising of the sun or East. Neither are related to Pessah/Passover which is when the Jews celebrate that God saved their firstborns in Egypt and the “passing over” of the forces of destruction that killed the firstborn Egyptians. In South America, we never celebrated Pascua with bunnies or eggs, which are completely unrelated to Jesus’ resurrection or the Passover. When did “Easter” in America became about celebrating the rising of the sun or the East? That’s what bothers me, in my opinion it is meant to deviate us from celebrating Jesus, his life and his death. So for me and my family, we choose to eat lamb, make a cake in the shape of a lamb and celebrate the perfect lamb that was slain for us.
I just listened to this podcast. Is it still possible to get The Mama Bear Apologetics Guide to Easter? With Easter just around the corner I would love to get “prepared” for my girls.
