Hillary Morgan Ferrer

Founder / President

Hillary Morgan Ferrer is the founder and President of Mama Bear Apologetics. She feels a burden for providing accessible apologetics resources for busy moms. She is the chief author and editor of the bestselling books  Mama Bear Apologetics: Empowering Your Kids to Challenge Cultural Lies, Mama Bear Apologetics Guide to Sexuality: Empowering Your Kids to Understand and Live Out God’s Design, (the soon to be released update which includes extra material on gender identity) and Honest Prayers for Mama Bears. Hillary has her master’s degree in biology and loves helping moms to discern truths and lies in both science and culture. She and her husband, John, have been married for almost 20 years and minister together as an apologetics team. She can never sneak up on anybody because of her chronic hiccups, which you can hear occasionally on the podcast and in interviews.

Amy Davison

Vice President / Podcast Co-Host

Amy Davison joined the Mama Bear team in 2019, after graduating with her master’s in Apologetics from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in 2018. Since joining Mama Bear, Amy has taken an active role in writing about sexual ethics and God’s purpose for sexuality, along with serving as co-host on our Mama Bear podcast. She also contributed to the Mama Bear Apologetics Guide to Sexuality. Amy and her husband, Mike, are both Air Force veterans and have a heart for helping parents and kids love God with their minds. Together, they are raising three boys and a little girl in Texas in a little house overflowing with noise and fun. When she isn’t doing Mama Bear things, Amy enjoys staying up late reading and visiting antique stores, and she has a general weakness for comedies and Earl Grey tea.

Sarah cummings

Executive Director

Sarah Cummings serves as the Executive Director of Mama Bear Apologetics, where she supports the ministry with a commitment to servant leadership — equipping and empowering the team to fulfill the mission God has given them. With a B.S. in Commerce & Business Administration and a B.S. in Nursing, Sarah brings a unique blend of entrepreneurial experience and organizational leadership. She spent 11 years working in a hospital setting and three years teaching health science at the high school level before stepping away from the workforce to homeschool her two children.

Her passion for apologetics grows out of her own journey as a Mama Bear — learning to equip and train her children in the historic Christian faith — and she is deeply committed to encouraging other parents to do the same. Sarah lives in Alabama with her husband and kids, where she enjoys raising animals on her small homestead. She also aspires to be a biblical scholar someday.

Alexa Cramer

Blog and Podcast Contributor, Video Content Creator

Alexa is a homeschool mom of two. She became obsessed with apologetics after a season of doubt that nearly stole her faith. Alexa has a background in film and video and will willingly fight anyone who doesn’t agree that Jesus Freak is the greatest song that that ever graced the earth.

Anja Westerhaus

CURRICULUM CONTENT LEAD

Anja Westerhaus is the Curriculum Content Lead for Mama Bear Apologetics. A graduate of Wheaton College with extensive coursework in Christian Education, she also holds a Master’s in Education from National Louis University. Anja taught for many years in diverse, under-resourced public schools in both Illinois and California. For the past 14 years, she has taught apologetics to moms, teens, and children through her home, church, and online. She is passionate about equipping parents to feel confident as the primary spiritual educators of their children—teaching them to think biblically and love their neighbors well. Anja lives in Northern California with her husband of 22 years and their five children, who attend public school. She also teaches part-time at her children’s elementary school.

Brittany White

Creative Lead

Brittany White is the Creative Lead at Mama Bear Apologetics. She is a wife and mother of three, residing in Dallas, Texas. A graduate of Regent University with a degree in Communication and a focus on Organizational Leadership, she often pairs theological discussions with an appetizer within her local community. She has an extensive background in the moral and ethical principles surrounding the sanctity of life. A musician as well as a film and literature enthusiast, you’ll find Brittany in cultural apologetics, extending grace to (many, not all) misattributed C.S. Lewis quotes.

ASHLEY ENG

Speaking Coordinator

Ashley Eng is a pastor’s wife and dedicated homeschooling mother to three young children. She plays a vital role as the speaking coordinator for Mama Bear Apologetics, where she manages all inquiries and arrangements for speaking requests from churches and other organizations. Ashley’s passion for equipping mothers to understand and defend their faith shines through as she helps connect the right speakers with the right audiences.

Christi Bartels

Administration Assistant

Christi Bartels is the Administrative Assistant at MamaBear Apologetics. She is a wife to the cutest Chick-fil-A operator, a mama to five children, and an unexpected fan of New Orleans where they reside. Before becoming a mama she was an elementary school teacher to a wide range of students that fueled her desire to teach. Stepping away from the classroom did not put an end to her opportunity to teach because she soon found herself serving in the church through leadership in the children’s, youth, and college ministries. Her time serving in the church revealed a need for families, students, and the church to be better equipped to defend the Christian faith. This need led her to earn a master’s in Christian Apologetics from New Orleans Theological Baptist Seminary. She is passionate in defending the written word of God and his goodness. Some trivial information about Christi is that she loves coffee and Crossfit, is a wannabe horticulturist, and 15 minute power naps are her super power.
