Summary
In this Father’s Day-focused episode, Amy welcomes her husband, Michael Davison, to discuss the restoration of biblical manhood, fatherhood, and discipleship in the home. Michael shares how a coworker’s assumption that he was an atheist became a profound wake-up call, revealing that he had compartmentalized his faith and failed to visibly represent Christ in his workplace.
The conversation explores the dangers of separating faith from everyday life, the cultural decline of male spiritual leadership, and the need for Christian men to reclaim their God-given role as disciples and leaders within their families. Michael explains how leaning into spiritual disciplines, accountability, and intentional discipleship transformed both his personal walk with Christ and the lives of those around him. The discussion also addresses why many men avoid traditional men’s ministry programs and offers practical insights into building effective men’s groups that challenge, encourage, and equip men for spiritual leadership.

We are all in this together, so sometimes our posts are a bit of all of us.

I am lost on so many points here
1. “Toxic War on Masculinity” – At best this is silly – worse just another ginned up conspiracy fear mongering boogie man to aggrandize one’s religious ego – and deprecate those they dislike.
The fact is there is NO war on masculinity – much less a toxic war – this is simply grifting, self-serving drivel.
2. Biblical Manhood – For God’s sake, who exactly gets to decide what “manhood” – who decides when there was or wasn’t Biblical manhood… Did we have it back when it was okay to beat your wives and kids – when exactly… likewise when exactly was America great – back when those coloreds had to go to separate drinking fountains.
How about just plain old walking with God in Christ – what’s new about that – that is the real call – starting with complete humility and total integrity. If American evangelicalism could simply grasp this basic instead all the phony fear-mongering, boogie-men, sniveling and whining about their phony persecution – THAT would the genuine “manning themselves” that God His people to in 1Cor16.13.
